Scope and content
The documents in the series C1 to C9 contain the Council's production during the first 29 months of its existence, prior to the establishment of the International Staff. After the ninth session, the Council continued its document production with a new referencing system, i.e. C-M(52)1, C-R(52)1, etc.
Document series C1 contains all the documents produced for the Council's first session, C2 for the second and so forth. For each session a variety of documents were issued: agendas (A), documents (D), notes (N), records (R) and verbatim records (VR). Document production took on a normal pace starting with the fourth session.
For each session, an agenda was issued. Each agenda item was discussed in turn, and the decisions taken were published in a specific document. Finally, a press release was issued summarizing the decisions taken in the session.
In addition, we find the documents used by the Council in its decision-making (such as activity reports to the Council or to the Defence Committee, Delegation memoranda, statements by countries or by important persons, etc.).
