Scope and content
Documents in the AC/12 chronological series report on the work of the PPC and its relations with its subgroups. These include administrative and technical documents.
The former are mainly terms of reference and meeting records of PPC subcommittees, programmes of work and annual activity reports from the PPC to the SCEPC, PPC meeting records for the SCEPC, and documents on the selection and appointment of staff in bodies affiliated with the PPC.
These affiliated bodies include in particular the Joint Operational Staff (JOS), the NATO Wartime Oil Organization (NWOO) and the Petroleum Expert Group (PEG).
From a technical standpoint, the PPC sent out questionnaires to the nations and received activity reports in response. The questionnaires and reports concerned the build-up of stocks, the storage, the transport and the distribution of oil and gas, for military and civil stocks in the NATO zone in peacetime and wartime (e.g. nuclear). There are also discussions of the conditions required for trade in fuels with non-NATO countries in both wartime and peacetime.
